Short visit to Chicago for training

On my recent visit to Chicago for Corptax training, I checked in on Foursquare when I got to O’Hare International Airport and shared it on Facebook and Twitter. I don’t always post to Facebook my Foursquare check-ins, but when I do, I am pleasantly surprised.

A friend from college, who once told me he might move to Chicago, is actually in Chicago and has been for over 2 years. Great.

He hits me up and we go to Devon street, which is a “must-visit” place if you are Desi. This street is famous for its Pakistani restaurants, shops, and the whole “desi” experience. We eat dinner at Sabri, then have dessert at Tahoora. On a different day, he takes me to Devon Street again and this time, we eat at Usmania and grab some food “to-go” from Ghareeb Nawaz.

Downtown Chicago

I also got a chance to visit downtown Chicago, which to my surprise, is very clean and walk-able, unlike San Francisco. We visited “The Bean” and walked around Millennium Park. After, we also went to Willis Tower. Unfortunately, due to evening fog and cloudy skies, my view from 1700 feet wasn’t that great but still worth the money.

The Bean

In all, it was a great experience and a memorable short visit. Everything was wonderful, minus the weather.
