Thank you for making it this far and clicking through to learn more about a total stranger on the internet. I appreciate it when people step outside of their comfort zone, it shows character.
My name is Zahid and I have been blogging since 2006.
During this time, I got married, graduated, started a career, had a son, and bought my first home – in that order.
I was born in Karachi and raised in Dubai where I lived for 19 years before moving to California in 2002 to pursue my Undergrad. I graduated with a B.Sc. in Accounting from SF State.
I now live in the city of San Jose, at the heart of Silicon Valley.
I currently work as a corporate tax accountant at a tech startup in SF. Before that, I worked at one of the Big 4 tax and audit firms.
In another life, I would have been a writer, a journalist, a photographer, and startup investor.
That’s why, you will find me blogging about writing, journalism and news media, photography and travel, and new tech startups and products.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with my son, experience new places, try my hand at photography, read technology news and sleep.
To sum it up, I encapsulate everything the San Francisco Bay Area is known for – diversity, optimism and a desire for expensive coffee.
P.S. Goes without saying but just for the record, my opinions on this blog, on social media, on the internet everywhere, are personal and don’t represent the views and opinions of my current or former employer(s).
