Review of Canon Powershot SX20 IS

Soon after coming from Dubai last year, I had decided that I needed a more high end digital camera. Not a DSLR but something that is between Point and Shoot and a full fledged DSLR. That’s when I decided to sell my Sony Cybershot DSC W120 and buy Canon Powershot SX20 IS.

I have been using it now for over three months now and simply love it. Picture quality is amazing, it’s easy to use, has quite a few advanced settings and very comfortable grip.

– 12.1 MP CCD
– 2.5″ vari-angle PureColor VA LCD
– Smart Auto mode with Scene Detection Technology

I bought it from eBay with a carrying bag, 4GB memory card, cleaning kit and a mini tripod; all for $350. Canon Powershot SX20 IS is an excellent camera for the price and good starter camera if you are thinking about upgrading to DSLR in the future.

The only bad feature of the camera happens to be the fact that it requires AA batteries. I guess it is such a minor issue that the good features overshadow the one bad feature.
