ACCT 301 Pretest

On 19th I am scheduled to take this Accounting 301 Pretest which is required if you want to enroll in any upper division accounting course, even if you have an Associates Degree in Accounting! I would really appreciate if anyone explained to me why !?!?!

It has 30 multiple choice questions and the passing score is 70% (keeps changing). It covers adjusting entries, double entry accounting, accounting cycle and some basics about GAAP.

I don’t think I will be able to enroll in any Accounting class this Spring semester coz the classes are all full and I think I also have to deal with some pre-requisite.

So as I am preparing these days for the pretest, this amazing thought accured to me that I should talk about the concepts I am learning because now I think I can talk in accounting language and happen to know quite a bit.

I will be posting definitions and examples of few of the topics that I am hoping will be covered in the pretest… so watch out for that 🙂

Well it might seem like a stupid idea of having a pre-test,just to enroll in upper division classes BUT believe me Brother …it will help You understand the material better and might increase your chances of passing the CPA exam….I just took the exam….and the passing grade is 75% and the passing rate is only 45%….THE EXAM JUST SUCKS….i guess thats why when AICPA presented the idea of currently practicing CPA’s take the exam every 10yrs….they just went crazy and made sure that idea never got approved coz they said “Can’t Pass Again”(CPA).

  • Thanks mansoor for the response!

So when you say you took the exam you mean CPA right? I am kinda confused… but anywayz, my ultimate goal is CPA so i guess i better get used to the idea of pre-test and exams that totally don’t make sense and suck 🙂

Okay, so i took the test twice already and i still feel like you did. I scored a 19. I’m hoping you can shed some light on me. How the heck do i know what concepts i’m getting wrong? At this point, I can’t remember some of the examples. Help!
