ReTweet Is Now Available To All Twitter Users

Something that was really missing from Twitter.com was the ability to re-tweet (share/broadcast) a tweet that you really liked and wanted to share with the rest of your followers.

Back in August, Project Retweet was announced and it got many of us excited because even though most serious Twitter users use desktop clients such as Tweetdeck or web clients such as HootSuite and Brizzly, occasionally we do go to Twitter.com to see how things are. Twitter.com is RAW, Twitter clients are just more refined and can be fine tuned.

When you login to Twitter first few times after the retweet feature has been activated, you will see this:

Like most Twitter features, this one is also easy to understand and use.

Once you click on the retweet link, shown in the image, the tweet gets retweeted to your followers. The only thing that seems to be different about Twitter.com retweet is that “recycle” look alike icon that shows up when you go to your profile on Twitter.com. In other words, you won’t see the retweeted tweet in your Twitter stream on the homepage. That’s not the case with most other retweet features used by Twitter apps as a retweeted tweet goes back into your Twitter stream.

That’s it, there is nothing more to it. Twitter.com users don’t have an excuse anymore to not share useful information.

Every blog has an RSS feed, even websites have RSS feeds these days. Most of your blog readers will subscribe to your blog using an RSS feed because it makes it easier for them to read all your latest posts in their favorite RSS reader. You might not know but there are few RSS directories that solely exist to collect RSS feeds.

You can use these RSS feed directories to get more subscribers, increase the number of backlinks, and publicize your blog. I have tried to create a list that has good, legitimate and active RSS directories. Links below are direct submission links, you don’t have to register for any of these services though you might be asked for an email.

Shel Israel is the author of Twitterville, a book I highly recommend you read because Isreal is a really good story teller and has penned a book that will go down as social media classic. He tackles being referred as social media expert during his speaking arrangements in his blog post and makes few points.

- Let the people decide who social media expert is and who is not.

Check Your Facebook and Twitter For Black Friday Deals

Thanksgiving is upon us and most people try to make a list of must have items around this time. I happen to be one of those people especially this year as I am in the market for a laptop.

An interesting piece on ABC News has prompted me to share this information with you.

- Online and offline retailers will leverage the social media to publicize deals.
- Black Friday deals will be followed by Cyber Monday

I have a feeling that this year, Cyber Monday will be bigger than Black Friday. Why? Deals!

People who miss out on black Friday will shop on Cyber Monday, the Monday following thanksgiving. Twitter and Facebook will be awash in deals from major retailers and people who have either missed out on black Friday or people who just can’t resist a deal will shop on Monday making Cyber Monday the biggest shopping day of the year.

Being a Twitter devotee, I have created a 2 Twitter lists, Black Friday Deals and Cyber Monday Deals. Follow my lists and you will not miss out on any Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals.

I will be looking out for laptop deals, let me know if you find something under $300 that is really worth $800, I will buy it a in a heartbeat.
