About Me

Howdy.

My name is Zahid, pronounced Za-head, and I am a social media technology enthusiast. Accountant by education, I observe the scene from the sidelines and hop in once in a while if I can contribute to or improve understanding of a geeky topic. This blog becomes my loud speaker when I take the field.

I discovered internet in 1996 and since have been fascinated and curious about the possibilities of technology. I created my first website, about Poetry, in 1999 by teaching myself basic HTML. After moving to California from Dubai in 2002, I got involved in web development and started creating websites to earn money and then selling it for a profit. Essentially, I was running websites and earning affiliate commissions before the widespread adoption of the affiliate model.

I sold all my websites that I had either created from scratch or bought in the open market in 2007 except my accounting website; a forum for students, professionals and business owners.

About that poetry website; I never sold that one, it was my first and I put it to sleep. Call me weird but it was my first born and only pink website I will ever conceive, selling it was out of question.
