Yesterday like most Muslim-Americans, I woke up to the horrific news about the Orlando shooting. In terms of casualties, this shooting tops the list of the worst mass shooting in the U.S. history.
It’s a heartbreaking tragedy and a despicable act of hate.
Since the incident, there’s been a lot of knee-jerk reaction (as expected) and there will be a lot more in the coming days. People tend to mix politics with tragedy to help their sense of being.
Let’s not accept the louder divisive narrative as the one that defines America – because it doesn’t.
It’s time to unite. It’s time to stand with the LGBTQ community.
