If you have followed my blogging journey, you know that I change my blog theme every year. Back when I first started in 2007, I was just using free WordPress themes.

After some time, the quality started to suck. All free themes had encrypted footer links to some websites I would never voluntarily link to.

Enough, I said. There has to be a better way.

Then I discovered ThemeForest. It’s a marketplace where the best WordPress designers list their themes for sale.

Problem solved.

There’s no harm in paying for quality design when it comes to WordPress themes. An aesthetically fine looking blog adds credibility, shows commitment, and allows you to reflect your online persona.

It’s the digital way of saying, “I have STYLE.”

Today, I want to share with you 5 excellent WordPress themes for personal bloggers that I have used in the past.

If you are a personal blogger, I highly recommend the following 5 themes:

1) Impose – A WordPress Theme For Bloggers

3) Readable – Clean, Minimal, Medium, Magazine, Blog and Journal WordPress Theme

5) Read WP – Responsive HTML5 Minimalist Theme

Read WP is the first theme I tried from the same designer who made the Impose and Readme themes. What I loved about this theme was that it was bare bones and loaded very fast. It’s a great personal blog theme but will also suit you well if you are a photo blogger.
