Yes, I know you are thinking that many online tax preparation sites let you file Federal return for free but charge you for State forms.

You can file Federal return for free using a tax preparation service and then later go to your State’s website to file the State return for free. Yes, it’s not very convenient but it really helps if your State forms are not complicated and your Federal return was simple.

Nonetheless, if you want to take the free route, you might as well go all the way. You have no excuse, I am providing you the links.

  2. OnLine Taxes – Federal Free; State Free. Income limit: between $8,000 – $62,000.
