Dom Sagolla, Twitter co-founder, was on KRON 4 News and was interviewed about his book 140 Characters: A Style Guide for the Short Form. As much as I enjoyed reading the book, I enjoyed the interview.

Quote I like from the Interview

Email is a push medium, Twitter is a pull medium

[ad#468]

  • Here’s what a friend just wrote me about Twitter: Twitter is full of spam and rubbish. lol. It’s just not worth my time sorting through all the rubbish. I only had 10 or so people on my personal Twitter but if they are a website owner they post their stuff on their website as well, so it was pointless reading it twice. And if they’re a friend, I can just have a conversation with them some time and hear everything useful they have to say then.

“”To me, Twitter is a stupid fad. There’s two types of people using it:

    1. Weird individuals who want to share their daily life on the internet regardless of who listens
    2. Bloggers who have created a hype about twitter being good for blog exposure by telling wannabe bloggers that if you want to be a good blogger you need to use Twitter and follow them.”

WHO WANTS TO WEIGH IN ON THIS?

    • Haha… that was really funny and for some reason I feel she will never use Twitter again 😛

That’s okay because Twitter is not what she needs or wants. Twitter is not for everyone.

Twitter is more than sharing life, it is about sharing likes and dislikes. That doesn’t make anyone weird. Most popular people on Twitter are not bloggers even if they have created a lot of hype.
